Dr. Barley & Mr. Hops had been known to sing the Sumerian Hymn to Ninkasi: "What makes your heart feel wonderful, makes also our heart feel wonderful. Our liver is happy, our heart is joyful. May Ninkasi live together with you." After a few hearty evenings of homebrew, they lit on the idea of sharing their craft and creativity.

GLOUCESTER COUNTY HOMEBREWERS began in 1992 about the same time Dr Barley & Mr Hops were considering their enterprise. These were 6 folks who also wanted to share their craft with others. Their appointed spokesperson, and subsequent president, Paul Kennedy, approached us and asked if they could call us home. Thus began a beautiful union of energy and opportunity.
